Tired and busy

I haven't blogged all week because other than being really busy at work and really tired when I get home, not much else going on. The oddball pet blankets have stuttered almost to a halt, not a lot of people with time to work on them I guess. Maybe more when fall comes back around.
I finished up that pair of socks I was working on over my break, and am onto another pair of socks and another bag. I hit Michael's today to see what they have for new stuff in yarn, but other than the Lion Brand fisherman's wool, nothing impressive. Their store brand is just another brand of worsted weight acrylic in different colors, no difference I could see from that and the Vanna's choice/red heart. For some odd reason, they added tons more red heart and they still have a ton of homespun. So really nothing exciting. I guess I'll just have to continue to be a yarn snob. Oh well!

Week Over

Thank goodness, the week is over and I have 2 more days, I think I need them to forget how poopy the week was.
Had a great day today though. Hung out and knit with Tracie, she gave me the nicest ever surprise belated bday gift, pink silk ribbon yarn! To quote "everyone needs some silk" I agree. I could have stayed there for hours, but had to go get some pink sock yarn. Headed to Michael's, but they completely yanked everything from the shelves and are restocking. I got some sport weight, which will be fine for socks. Hope the restocking gives us some better options than the Red Heart.

Oh my

Well, the vacation is over and I am so tired from work today!
I spent most of this morning trying to figure out what I should be doing. I organized, I hemmed, hawed, and got into some busy work to get back in the groove. It would have probably helped if I had gotten some sleep last night, but the North Minneapolis summer has started, which means a lot of drunk people outside fighting most nights. Last night a girl really hated a lot of people and screamed it for about an hour.
I did almost finish a puzzle while on vacation, but this morning Itchy used it as a surfboard and I decided it was done.
Eric got me the Ipod Itouch for my bday, and the first thing I did was download all of my PDF patterns to it. That is the best feature it has I think.
Oh, fyi, if you are a Raveler and don't like the price someone has set for yarn, don't argue. Just don't buy it. I have some yarn for sale or trade that I got an awesome deal on that someone figured out, and decided to message me arguing about the price I am asking. Well, I researched that yarn, and the price I am asking is below retail. And I was the one that went to the estate sale in Egypt to get the yarn. And, it's not your yarn. If you don't like the price, don't buy it from me. People get deals on stuff all the time and turn them around for a profit.
Ugh.

What else I've been doing

Monday I went to get my Implana implant. That hurt. Imagine something the diameter of a pen being shoved into your arm. Not just under the skin, but into the muscle of your arm. But it's done and I'm covered for 3 yrs now.

Tuesday Amy took me out for lunch at Figlio's, which was heaven. I had the cheese ravioli which is what I always get because it is the best ravioli I have ever had. Then we went to Needlework Unlimited, NU outlet, and Bead monkey. What a blast!

I also finished 2 felted bags. Both using lamb's pride, my new fave for felting besides cascade 220. they are blocking now.

Thanks Mom!

I got my package today, and she said I could open early if I wanted to. (My b-day is next thurs) Thank you so much! I just love love love the cat windchimes! They are perfect! And just yesterday I was scouring my bookshelves for a trashy romance novel to read, and didn't have any! Now I do! I don't know how you read my mind but it was just what I needed! Thank you sooooo much!

What I've been doing

Today I cleaned the pond/water feature. It took over 2 hrs, but it is a gorgeous day and now it's all clean and sounds pretty. I forgot to take a before picture, but imagine the worst sewer/outhouse smell, and imagine that coming from your small pond. It was the most disgusting thing I have done in a very long time. But now it's clean.

I am also working on a sock, the yarn is a hand-dyed color from someone I can't remember right now. It's more camoflauge than I thought it would turn out, but oh well.

Yesterday Mulder spent the day on the couch with his paws over his eyes. I think he's confused as to why I am home disturbing his sleep.

This is only a test

I have 2 weeks off. I have nothing planned other than some dr's appts and knitting. Maybe painting a room. So I thought I would do a test. I sleep more than most people. I realize that 10 - 12 hrs of sleep is my "needed" amount for functioning during the work week. I have always been like this. Psychiatrists and dr's ask me about this. It has never changed. I have always gone to bed early and gotten up late. So, I thought I would do a test over this 2 weeks. See if going to bed when I'm tired and getting up when I'm awake changes over time. Sunday night I slept for 13 hrs. I went to bed at 10 and got up at 11 Monday night I slept for 12 hrs, went to bed at 10 and got up at 10.
Please do not do what other people do and be amazed and somewhat pissy about how much I sleep. If you have lived your whole life functioning a certain way, I'm not judging you.
I just wanna see if eventually my body finds a time zone it likes to work in.
This is just a test

Vacation!

I am officially on vacation for 2 weeks from work! I'm not getting paid for all of it, but I don't care so much. I realized that after 8 years at the same company my sanity is worth more than money, so I'm taking some time off. Next weekend is the Shepherd's Harvest festival in Lake Elmo, then the 14th is my birthday. I only have my annual exam planned other than that. I always do that my birthday week so I don't forget. So far I've picked my own tulips from my own yard and threw away old underwear and bought new.

Good enough for me!
